Frontier Natural Products Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Ground, 1.76 oz (50 g)

I love baking e.g. cinnamon rolls but came across some news saying that the cinnamon generally sold in grocery stores as cinnamon is actually not "true cinnamon".  What is worse, it causes cancer when used in large doses (the toxic ingredient is called coumarin). According to Wikipedia, European health agencies have warned against consuming high amounts of cassia bark, one of the four main species of cinnamon, because of its coumarin content. German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BFR) only cautions against high daily intake of foods containing coumarin. Its report specifically states that Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) contains "hardly any" coumarin.See more

Here is the real thing then: organic, Ceylon cinnamon from Frontier Natural Products. Grown without pesticides and a fair price is paid to the farmers. It tastes nothing like the fake, Cassia cinnamon. This has more of a "Christmassy" flavor. It is lighter and fresher. All in all, far more elegant and better taste. The color is the same though. The glass jar is big and it is ground so you can easily sprinkle it.

Boericke & Tafel Florasone eczema cream

I suffer at times from itchy, scratchy eczema on my hands and have found this cream to relieve the itch. It should be applied 3 to 4 times a day but in my case even twice a day has been quite enough. Florasone is like nature's cortisone but with the benefit that it shouldn't thin the skin as regular cortisone. The cream is pale yellow, odorless and absorbs well. It is not messy at all. The tube is quite big (1 oz) and it lasts long.

Giovanni Smooth as Silk Xtreme Protein Hair Infusion

This is a hair care product from the Giovanni Smooth as Silk series aimed for damaged or raspy hair. It is kind of  a hair mask which you can put on after shampooing for 3 to 10 minutes depending on how damaged your hair is and then shower off. The formula isn't too heavy or messy, it spreads easily into hair. The ingredients include shea butter which moisturizes hair, macadamia nut oil which softens and kukui oils which rejuvenate. The result is more vital, shiny and moisturized hair. There's no strong perfume which can be nice for a change. The bottle is 150 ml and it lasts quite long.

Smarty Pants Adult Gummy Multivitamins with omega 3s

Time to take your vitamins again especially at this time of the year. It can be a bit tedious with all those terrible tablets. Thankfully, I have found these softer candy-like (!) gummy multivitamins with omega-3 oil. Now I look forward to eating them. They contain the most vitamins A,B,C, D and E. They are colorful and shaped like candy.

Alba Botanica Body Builder Mango Hawaiian Shampoo

I have finally find a shampoo which gives body to my hair. It is a so-called clear shampoo which is usually good for fine hair. It lifts the roots and gives great volume and bounce. It also cleanses the scalp well. The scent is of delicious mango. There are no sulfates or heavy minerals used in the formula. The product doesn't include silicone which can make hair flat. Even the bottle is made of recycled materials.

Fuchs brushes Ambassador

I really like the Fuchs brushes Ambassador brush with natural bristles. Because of the natural bristles it doesn't break hair as badly as metallic ones. It brings new shine for dull, dry hair and adds great volume. The natural bristles invigorates the scalp and makes it to extract oils which will moisturize and protect hair.

Nature's Way Coconut Oil

I have been using this oil for quite a while now. It smells like coconut flakes or coconut milk. The scent is very delicate and not too overpowering. The oil is solid in rooms temperature but when you warm it up in your hands it gets liquid.

I have been using it mainly as a hair mask and body lotion. I have been reading a lot of the benefits of coconut oil. For hair, it restores damaged protein so it promotes regrowth and strengthens hair. Coconut oil contains Vitamin E (an essential nutrient for skin and hair), lauric acid and capric acid. These chemicals all help to promote protein regrowth in the hair, by penetrating deep into each hair, making it stronger. In contrast to chemical conditioners which provide a mirage of health, coconut oil actually nourishes your hair.

I usually put one or two table spoons in my hair (it's not very thick) and massage with my scalp with it, as well as the ends. I'll wait for an hour (If you have a thick hair you can wait longer, even a night) and then wash it with shampoo. I immediately noticed how soft and silky it made my hair.

Coconut oil is especially good during the winter time because it prevents frizz. Oil and water do not mix so the coconut oil on the hair prevents moisture from entering the hair shaft to create frizz.

I spent a  long time comparing different options on iHerb and I noticed that Cococare offers the cheapest option. I read some reviews of it and noticed that some reviewers didn't think it really was pure because it isn't suitable for consuming. Plus, it didn't have any smell. The price was great but I really wanted to try something REAL. So I bought the Nature's Way Coconut Oil and it didn't disappoint me. :)

In addition, coconut oil can be used for oil-pulling, swishing a tablespoon or two of the oil in your mouth for 20 minutes for better oral health. The vitamin E the oil contains is an antibacterial and antifungial agent, so it is good for the teeth.
