Quest Bar Chocolate Peanut Butter

Protein bars are an easy way to get a lot of protein fast without the need to eat huge proportions. Quest Bars are probably the most popular protein bars there are. I tested the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor. One 60 gram bar has
  • 20g protein per bar
  • just 2g sugar (stevia is used for sweetening)
  • 17g fibre
  • and it is also gluten free
If you worry about the carbs there's just 3g of net carbs according to this formula:
  • 25g Carbs - 17g Fiber - 5g Erythritol = 3g Net Carbs
The ingredients are: Protein blend (whey protein isolate, milk protein isolate), isomalto-oligosaccharides (prebiotic fiber), peanuts, water, erythritol, cocoa. Contains less than 2% of the following: sea salt, steviol glycosides (stevia), lo han guo, natural flavors. If you wonder what on earth are Isomalto-Oligosaccharides then I can tell that they are Prebiotic Fibers derived from plant sources.

One bar contains 160 calories. It has 5g of fat of which 1 g is saturated fat but 0g trans fat. So quite low fat, about one teaspoon.

Then the taste: The bar is quite thick and chewy. If you want to eat it in pieces you'll need a knife. There are small bits of peanut but which are the only thing to bring a little texture to the bar. Otherwise it is a solid cocoa bar but with a distinct peanut butter flavor. It is not too sweet at all, so you won't get thirsty or feel like you've been eating candy. The sea salt brings the flavors out  and with the peanuts it reminds me a little bit of Snickers. It doesn't taste too artificial or processed so I quite like it.

In addition top the taste, Quest Bar's strenght is the whey protein. Why whey protein is good for you?

Deep Steep Body Wash Melon & Tangarine

It is interesting how you focus so much on finding a good shampoo or a conditioner and the like but then you neglect your skin. You can buy the cheapest soap although skin is such a big part of your body. As I decided to stop being cruel to my skin I bought a really good and organic body wash/shower gel, namely Deep Steep Body Wash . Apart from the really cute package as you can see in the pictures below, it is a really good product:

  • The wash is like thick gel and the lather is soft and rich. A little drop goes a long way!
  • My skin feels really clean after washing with Deep Steep.
  • Thanks to aloe vera and shea butter, the body wash leaves skin soft and moisturized.
  • The tangerine & melon scent is not too over whelming but fresh and sweet. The perfume reminds me of Claus Porto's Melodia melon soap. If you prefer a little stronger scent then the Deep Steep Brown Sugar & Vanilla is a good choice. It is more candy-like but still sophisticated.

Nature's Plus Ultra Nails Nail Strenghtener

My nails tend to get soft and brittle especially during the winter months when the air is dry and cold. (I eat vitamins and drink milk so that is not the reason why I have weak nails.)
I wanted to buy something natural and medicating that would nourish the nails properly. The usual nail strenghteners are almost like nail polish so they don't really do anything just make a harder surface to the nails. This Nature's Plus Ultra Nails product moisturizes the nails with lavender, calendula and tea tree oils and aloe vera. It absorbs quickly and has only a light perfume scent. Already in a week my nails started to look better and get stronger and would not break as easily.
